Raloxifene prescription: Raloxifene is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. Estrogen is a hormone which among other actions, regulates the turnover (formation and destruction) of bone. Although studies are not complete, raloxifene appears to work without increasing the risk of breast or uterine cancer. Raloxifene is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (decreased density of bone mass) in postmenopausal women.
